Beloved Star Pat Finn, Recognized For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.

US actor Finn, who featured in iconic programs like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.

The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in LA this Monday having undergone cancer treatment beginning in 2022, per reports.

"He never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his family stated in a message.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

A Prolific Television Career

His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.

He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, depicting a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.

During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on several well-known programs, including:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.

His film credits encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

A Life in Improv

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was part of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn coached, befriended and mentored countless students over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he shared online.

Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
