Football Expert Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match winning run came to an end by the Black Cats before the global break, but will the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's latest album, the new release, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several charity football games over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday football side," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite close, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' only away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.

My son advised me to select Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. The visitors will try to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.

Fulham have got plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but might they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
