How the Broncos together with their malleable quarterback can end the Kansas City Chiefs' reign.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Real-time updates includes text commentary for Sunday's games via various channels, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Also, radio commentary can be heard through select stations for a separate game (from 21:00 BST).
It's week six in the NFL season , after recent discussion regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their unbeaten records.
Striking in those games was the number of infractions each conceded. Philadelphia committed them at crucial times so they kind of defeated themselves having led 17-3 going into the final quarter versus Denver, set to play overseas this Sunday.
But it was good to see how Denver quarterback the rookie managed to have the shortfall and then direct three scoring drives on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the game by four points.
The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year with cornerback their star corner. They are number one in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, yet Denver prevailed in that battle.
They executed the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They weren't always rushing more than four pass rushers but they might plug two linebackers in the interior then withdrawing them and dispatch a nickel off the edge.
Early on in the campaign, we said on a program that Denver might emerge as the current year's surprise contenders. They ended the previous year well then did a good job in continuing that momentum.
Could Denver be this season's dark horses?
New TE their tight end has stepped up big while new running back their rusher is a player the team trusts. He now ranks fifth in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) as well as tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).
I love that the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.
That shows that Denver represent a squad aiming to run first, since you can do a lot based on that approach. It slows opposing rushes and maintains in favourable situations.
This has helped quarterback the young passer, who came the NFL as a first-round selection last year, throwing 29 TDs – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert possess the arm strength to pass anywhere, however they don't move the mobility as Nix. He boasts exceptional arm talent, a unique trait, and he is so athletic.
His assets include his movement, the capacity to pass on the run, and using different arm angles to deliver the pass as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to throw that layered pass across the middle and over the corner.
For a young quarterback, aged 25, he's got a lot of composure in the pocket and isn't really fazed by the blitz. He aims to avoid a sack whenever possible and is able throw in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and is very decisive.
When you constantly run the ball it eats up the clock and makes the defence to stay in play extended periods, and when you have a mobile QB the defence must defend the area vertically side to side. This proves exhausting.
Nix has pushed back at Payton during games sometimes and it seems Payton likes that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for him to coach a young quarterback who's similar to moldable clay. The coach can truly develop him the way he wants to shape him. I think it's a special experience for the coach.
The head coach has won a championship and now passed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen it all. In my opinion the success Denver are experiencing offensively is mostly due to his leadership, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the combination with the QB aids make him into who he is.
There's no better a better guy in your ear, to help you during some of the tougher situations and boost self-belief.
I believe in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team strong enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.
Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are elite. They're performing above average, that's a good place to be in their division. The key is to continue this path.
They excel at embracing their strength, which is the ground game, and that's exactly what they should do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.
New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (10th worst), and they're the only team yet to win any game.
Since the league began tracking takeaways decades ago, this team are the first team to go without any turnovers in five outings, which is kind of shocking considering that their new coach was previously a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.
Patrick Mahomes stated Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss to Jacksonville.
After the upcoming matchup, Denver face a manageable slate up to their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and the Raiders before the Chiefs.
Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run at leading the West.
It depends upon what version of the Chiefs they meet since Denver {beat|def
